What began as Barnett Bank became a NationsBank project when NationsBank acquired Barnett in late 1997. (Within a few years, NationsBank was purchased by Bank of America. ) The furniture, which had been ordered by Barnett, now had to be reconfigured to meet the needs of the new owners. Luckily Barnett had chosen Steelcase Systems furniture which has the flexibility to be redesigned to meet the changing needs of the customer. The Steelcase products in particular were Montage, Arbor Camber, Collaboration side seating, and Rapport ergonomic seating. These products offered the high profile, clean, modern look that NationsBank wanted but also the technological capabilities that they needed to support their business processes.
